Frequently asked questions
How do I start a walking tour?
Open the app and browse the available routes on the Home or Explore tab. Tap a route to see its stops, map, and details, then tap Start to begin the guided walk with turn-by-turn directions and audio narration at each stop. Starting a walk uses a Walking Ticket (or is included with a subscription).
Do I need an account?
No — you can continue as a guest to browse routes, view full route details, explore the map, and search nearby places. A free account is needed for features tied to your profile, such as bookmarks, saved places, walk history, creating custom routes, and starting a guided walk.
What are Walking Tickets?
Walking Tickets unlock guided walks. You can earn them by watching optional short rewarded videos, purchase ticket bundles, or subscribe for ongoing access. Your current balance is shown in the app's ticket store and on your profile.
How do I restore a purchase or subscription?
Open the ticket store or the subscription paywall and tap Restore Purchases. This re-syncs any tickets or subscriptions tied to your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID used for the original purchase.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to iOS Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, to view, change, or cancel. You can also reach this from the app's profile screen.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile › Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, walk history, saved places, bookmarks, and all associated data from our servers. If you signed in with Apple, your Sign in with Apple token is revoked. This action can't be undone.
Location or navigation isn't working
Odyssey Guide needs location access to guide you along a walk. Check iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services is on, then find Odyssey Guide in the app list and set permission to While Using the App (and enable Precise Location). If guidance still seems off, try moving to an open area away from tall buildings for a better GPS signal.
Which languages does the app support?
Odyssey Guide is available in English and Spanish, following your device language. You can also choose your preferred language in the app's settings.
How do the rewarded ads work?
Rewarded ads are entirely optional — they only appear if you choose to watch a short video to earn Walking Tickets. We never show banner ads or interrupt your walks, and subscribers see no ads at all.
