Walk free with ads

A free walking tour that's actually free.

Trade a short video for a walk. Watch an optional rewarded video, earn Walking Tickets, and unlock a full narrated walk — no trial timer, no card, and no catch you discover forty minutes in.

How it works

Watch a video. Earn tickets. Start the free audio tour.

The videos are optional, and you can watch up to 5 videos a day. Each one you watch that day is worth more Walking Tickets than the last, and the count resets tomorrow — so a patient walker never has to pay.

A standard walk unlocks for 50 Walking Tickets. Earned tickets land in the same balance as bought ones, so you can spend them on a walk, on landmark photo ID, or on food and coffee along your route.

Nothing is trimmed

The free path does not buy you a shorter walk. An unlocked walk is the whole thing — narration at every stop, and the route on the map.

The fine print, up front

Optional means optional.

A rewarded video only ever starts when you tap a watch-video button yourself — on the watch-video pill in the app header, or in the ticket store. Nothing plays unless you ask for it: there are no banner ads, and nothing interrupts a walk once you are on it.

Rather not watch any? See pricing for ticket bundles and subscriptions. A subscription makes every walk in the library free to start — and a subscriber who does watch a video earns more from it, not less.

No ambush ads

Your tap, every time. We would rather you finish the walk than sit through something you did not ask for.

Questions about the free path

Is the free walking tour the whole walk, or a sample?

The whole walk. A walk unlocked with earned tickets is identical to one unlocked with bought tickets: every stop, all of the narration, and the map.

How many videos can I watch in a day?

There is a daily cap and it resets each day. Within a single day, each video you watch is worth more Walking Tickets than the one before it, so it pays to do them in a run rather than one at a time.

Will ads interrupt me while I am walking?

No. There are no banner ads anywhere, and nothing plays over a walk in progress. A rewarded video only ever starts when you tap a watch-video button yourself — on the watch-video pill in the app header, or in the ticket store.

Do subscribers still get ads?

A subscription is not an ad-removal product, because there is no ad stream to remove — the videos are opt-in for everyone. What a subscription does is make every walk in the library free to start, and grant Walking Tickets each renewal. Subscribers who do choose to watch a video earn more from it than everyone else.
